Dhurandhar Advance Bookings Lacks Momentum:
Aditya Dhar’s upcoming spy thriller Dhurandhar is gearing up for its theatrical release tomorrow, but the advance booking report has turned out to be a bit underwhelming. The film, led by Ranveer Singh, has sold around 80,000 tickets so far across major national chains — PVR, Inox, and Cinepolis. Considering the high-budget scale of the film, this number is slower than expected and has raised concerns within trade circles.
Dhurandhar brings together an impressive star cast including Arjun Rampal, R. Madhavan, Akshaye Khanna, and Sara Arjun, along with others in pivotal roles. The spy drama is packed with action, thrill, and strong performances, which were expected to boost advance bookings. However, the momentum hasn’t picked up yet.

In comparison to recent big Hindi releases, Dhurandhar is currently trailing. Sikandar had sold 1.43 lakh tickets in advance and earned ₹24 crore nett on Day 1, while War 2 crossed 1.48 lakh tickets and started with ₹27 crore nett. Dhurandhar is eyeing a total of 1.20–1.25 lakh tickets by the end of the day, which means its opening is likely to be lower than both films unless spot bookings show a major jump. Chhaava topped the list this year with 2.23 lakhs.

With such prominent names and a big-screen spectacle on offer, anything below ₹20 crore nett as opening-day revenue would feel like a slow beginning for Dhurandhar. At this point, the film’s performance will heavily depend on word of mouth and how the early audience receives it once shows begin.

Ranveer Singh’s charisma and Aditya Dhar’s storytelling promise a thrilling cinematic ride. If the content clicks, Dhurandhar could still turn the tide in its favor over the weekend. For now, the industry is watching closely to see how the spy flick battles through its crucial first day. Let's see how it fares. The first week of December has seen some major blockbusters in the last couple of years, such as Pushpa 2 and Animal, but this spy drama is nowhere close to that hysteria.
