Bollywood is well-known for it's music, dance, emotions and drama. The big fat Indian wedding is the perfect occasion to showcase all this. We have seen wedding celebrations in many Bollywood films. Here's a list of some memorable depictions of Band Baaja Baaraat in our movies.

The mother of all Bollywood blockbusters, this one depicted the Indian wedding in all it's grandeur and glory. From the engagement to the sangeet to all the various family functions, the film made for a spectacular depiction of the great Indian wedding. Many of us never knew of the countless traditions associated with the Indian wedding till one saw it on the big screen with this film.

The Sanjay Leela Bhansali film which heralded Aishwarya Rai's arrival as an actress of calibre depicted beautifully the customs and traditions associated with a Rajasthani wedding.

The name itself suggests as to what the film is all about. The film showcased the story of a soon to be married couple. It relates their journey from engagement to marriage. The depiction of the various rituals and traditions was an absolute delight to watch.

An iconic blockbuster featuring Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol. The film showcased the various happenings of a Punjabi wedding beautifully. Who can ever forget the smash hit song 'Mehendi Lagake Rakhna, Doli Saja Ke Rakhna' from the film!

The name of the film says it all. Ranveer Singh's debut film had him and Anushka Sharma playing wedding players. From New Delhi's Janakpuri to Sainik Farms, every wedding had its own delightful moments. With the beautiful sets and costumes, the film was an entertainment potboiler.

This one is one of the earliest and most memorable films which had the wedding as a theme. It told the story of a stressed father-of-the-bride, a smitten event planner, a bride with a secret and loads of relatives from all corners of the world. And they were enough to create much ado about the preparations for an arranged marriage in India. The film featured Naseeruddin Shah, Lillette Dubey, Shefali Shah, Rajat Kapoor, Vasundhara Das, Vijay Raaz and Parvin Dabas in key roles.The sleeper hit remains one of the most authentic wedding films made till date.

This Rajshri offering depicted the strength of the joint family system. There was an engagement sequence and a wedding sequence in the film which was depicted in an interesting manner. The film was a multi star-cast one which starred Salman Khan, Saif Ali Khan, Mohnish Behl, Tabu. Karisma Kapoor, Sonali Bendre, Neelam, Reema Lagoo and Alok Nath.

This breezy romantic blockbuster had a memorable segment in the second half when the character of Kalki Koechlin is getting married in Udaipur. It is during her wedding when the characters of Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone renew their lost friendship and attraction develops between the two.

This delightful and refreshing film which heralded Sridevi's comeback in Bollywood had a wedding sequence towards the climax where Sridevi's niece who is settled in America gets married. The wedding was depicted in typical Maharashtrian style and the 'Navrai Majhi' song and dance sequence in the wedding was extremely natural and endearing.

Who can ever forget the chartbuster song 'Mere Haathon Mein' at the start of the film which had Sridevi dancing during a typical North Indian wedding ceremony and during the course of the wedding the characters of Rishi Kapoor and Sridevi develop an attraction towards each other. The various activities which happen during a North Indian wedding were so well showcased in this Yash Chopra film.
