The much-awaited comedy sequel Bhagam Bhaag 2, led by Akshay Kumar, has reportedly hit an unexpected roadblock. The film’s planned March shooting schedule has been shelved due to an ongoing legal dispute involving director Raaj Shaandilyaa and producer Ekta Kapoor.

According to a report by Bollywood Hungama, Ekta Kapoor has filed a legal case against Shaandilyaa for an alleged breach of contract. The director had previously signed a three-film deal with Ekta’s banner. However, he reportedly went on to take up not one but two projects outside her production house without obtaining a No Objection Certificate (NOC) or returning the advance he had received for the third film under the agreement.

A source told the publication that this move did not sit well with Kapoor, prompting her team to send a legal notice to Shaandilyaa as well as the producers of Bhagam Bhag 2, including Ashwin Varde and Akshay Kumar’s production banner Cape of Good Films. The notice reportedly aimed to stall the shoot until the contractual dispute is resolved.

Due to the complications, the producers have decided to cancel the scheduled shoot for now. The film was set to begin with a 25-day schedule in March, featuring the lead cast including Akshay Kumar alongside Paresh Rawal and Manoj Bajpayee. With the schedule shelved, the dates of all three actors have been released.

Sources further suggest that the future of Bhagam Bhag 2 currently remains uncertain. A prolonged delay could push the project to the back burner, as the actors have already committed to multiple films starting June. Reports also claim that Akshay Kumar was unaware of the legal complications until just days before the shoot was scheduled to begin.
