Avatar Fire and Ash Third Week Collections:
James Cameron’s Avatar Fire and Ash, the third installment in the globally celebrated Avatar franchise, is witnessing a disappointing run at the Indian box office. Despite strong expectations and the franchise’s legacy, the film is struggling to reach the ₹200 crore nett mark in India.

The film opened with ₹107.5 crore nett in its first week, followed by a sharp drop to ₹47 crore nett in the second week. By the end of the third week, collections stood at ₹18.5 crore nett, taking the total to approximately ₹173.5 crore nett. With dwindling footfalls and limited growth, the film is unlikely to cross the ₹200 crore milestone.

Starring Sam Worthington, Zoe Saldaña, Sigourney Weaver, Stephen Lang, and Kate Winslet, Avatar: Fire and Ash has clearly underperformed when compared to its predecessor. Avatar: The Way of Water (2022) had an extraordinary run in India, collecting ₹184 crore nett in its first week, ₹98 crore nett in the second week, and a massive ₹55 crore nett in the third week alone. By the end of week three, Avatar 2 stood at ₹339 crore nett, while Avatar 3 lags far behind at ₹173 crore nett, nearly 49% lower.

While Fire and Ash will still be classified as a hit due to its high scale and global performance, it has fallen well short of expectations and its true box office potential in India. This underperformance further adds to Disney India’s worst year at the Indian box office, where most releases have failed to emerge as clear hits.
For a franchise once considered unbeatable in India, Avatar: Fire and Ash serves as a surprising and sobering reminder that even event films are no longer guaranteed record-breaking success.
