Avatar Fire and Ash is 50% Down From Avatar The Way of Water in India:

Avatar: Fire and Ash collected ₹18 crore on Friday, followed by ₹22 crore on Saturday and ₹25 crore on Sunday. However, the film saw a sharp drop on Monday, earning just ₹8 crore. This brings its four-day total to ₹73 crore nett in India.
In contrast, Avatar: The Way of Water had a far stronger opening. The film earned ₹40 crore on Friday, ₹40.5 crore on Saturday, ₹47 crore on Sunday, and ₹18 crore on Monday. Its four-day total stood at ₹145.5 crore nett, almost double that of Fire and Ash.

When the numbers are compared, Avatar: Fire and Ash has registered an approximate 49–50% drop from The Way of Water over the same four-day period. This is a substantial decline for a franchise known for its massive theatrical pull in India.
Several factors may have contributed to this fall. The novelty factor that boosted The Way of Water after a long gap is missing this time. Additionally, mixed word of mouth, franchise fatigue, poor marketing and strong competition from Indian releases have impacted collections. While the film still enjoys a loyal fan base and impressive visuals, the demand to watch it on the big screen appears reduced.
Despite the drop, Avatar: Fire and Ash remains a decent performer by industry standards. However, the comparison clearly shows that matching the box office dominance of The Way of Water was always going to be a tough challenge.
