Filmmaker Anurag Kashyap recently opened up about a deeply personal moment, sharing that he faced severe financial difficulties during his daughter Aaliyah’s wedding preparations. In a candid interview with The Hindu, Kashyap disclosed that he couldn’t afford the wedding expenses. It was then that Vijay Sethupathi stepped in to offer his help.

Kashyap expressed heartfelt gratitude, praising Sethupathi not just for his talent but also for his generosity and kindness. "After Imaikkaa Nodigal (2018 Tamil action-thriller), I was offered many South films but turned them down," he stated.

Anurag Kashyap further remarked, "Then, during the post-production of Kennedy, I kept running into Vijay Sethupathi at my neighbor’s house. I wasn’t keen at first (on doing Maharaja), but he helped me discover something in Kennedy. I even gave him a thank-you card in the film."

While recalling his conversation with Vijay about the financial struggles during his daughter Aaliyah Kashyap's wedding, Anurag told the South actor, "I need to get my daughter married next year, and I don’t think I can afford it." To this, Vijay responded, "We’ll help you," Kashyap confirmed. Now, isn't that amazing? We often hear stories about friendship between a star and a director, but this one is heartwarming.
