Actor Aly Goni, who recently found himself at the center of a social media storm, has spoken up about a viral video from a Ganpati celebration where he was seen not chanting “Ganpati Bappa Morya.” The clip sparked mixed reactions online, prompting the actor to clear the air with an honest clarification. In the viral clip, Jasmin Bhasin and Nia Sharma are seen dancing, enjoying and chanting Ganpati Bappa Morya during Ganpati celebrations. The video went viral because Jasmine and Nia were chanting loudly and even paparazzi joined then but Aly was just standing there and did not chant "Morya." Have a look at the video below:
Explaining his side, Aly said, “I didn’t even realise it. I was lost in my thoughts. I never imagined something like this could create such a big issue. This was my first time attending Ganpati celebration, I usually don’t go. I didn’t know what exactly I was supposed to do there, and I always worry that I might unintentionally do something wrong.”

He further emphasized that his faith and upbringing guide his actions, but they never stop him from respecting others’ traditions. “It’s not allowed in my religion, hum puja nahi karte hai (we don’t pray). We have one belief – we offer namaz, we pray, and we respect all religions. It is written in the Quran that we must respect everyone, and I do,” Aly added.
The actor’s statement highlights the balance many celebrities often try to maintain while being part of diverse cultural celebrations. Social media reactions had been divided, with some criticizing him while others supported his stance, pointing out the importance of respecting personal beliefs. Now even this reply is gaining heat on social media with mixed reactions.
