Alpha Postponed; Avatar 3 & Ikkis Compete On Christmas 

Alia Bhatt and Sharvari Wagh’s upcoming spy action drama Alpha has officially been postponed. The film, which was earlier scheduled to release during Christmas 2025, is now postponed.  James Cameron’s Avatar 3 and Sriram Raghavan's Ikkis, starring Agastya Nanda and Dharmendra will now compete each other during Christmas weekend. The tough box office clash is avoided, only to be filled with another one.

The decision appears to be a strategic one. Avatar 3 is releasing on December 19, 2025, and is expected to dominate the global box office, leaving limited space for other releases. On the other hand, Ikkis—a patriotic biopic directed by Anand—will now enjoy a solo release on December 25, 2025, after Alpha stepped back from the holiday slot.

According to reports, the reason behind Alpha’s postponement is the extensive VFX work required for the film. Being part of YRF’s Spy Universe, the movie reportedly has heavy action and visual effects, which need more time for completion.
