Aamil Keeyan Khan about Akshay Kumar in Sky Force :
Akshay Kumar portrays an IAF (Indian Air Force) officer in Sky Force, directed by Sandeep Kewlani and Abhishek Anil Kapur. The film is written by Aamil Keeyan Khan, Sandeep Kewlani, Carl Austin, and Niren Bhatt. We had a brief conversation with one of the writers, Aamil, who was excited to share some insights into the making of the film.
What was Akshay Kumar's perspective on Sky Force:
When asked what Akshay's perspective was on the script, Aamil Keeyan Khan said, "Akshay sir approached the script with clarity and purpose, instantly connecting with its emotional depth and powerful message. When a film says 'Based on a True Story,' especially about the Indian Air Force, the stakes are naturally higher."
"For him, this wasn’t just another project—it was personal. I remember Farida Jalal ji once saying in an interview, 'Uniform pehenne ka haq sirf Akshay Kumar ko hai,' and it’s easy to see why. His father, Shri Hari Om Bhatia ji, was a proud soldier in the Indian Army. The love for the uniform and the country—it's in his blood, and it shows—both on and off-screen," he added.

The writer went on to say, "He approached the story with care and reverence, offering invaluable insights to ensure authenticity and respect. His commitment went beyond acting; it was about honoring real-life heroes and preserving the story’s integrity."

As we know, Akshay Kumar's speech in the last scene is making people emotional. When asked about Aamil's reaction while writing it and how Akshay reacted when he first read the scene, the writer stated, "When you write, there’s usually a mix of excitement and nervousness—you want to see if it resonates. But this time, it wasn’t about validation. It was about addressing a broken system and trying, in some small way, to right a wrong."
"A soldier fights enemies outside, believing his country will fight for him on the inside. Yet, as a system and as a people, I felt that somewhere we failed Squadron Leader Devayya and his family. Writing that speech carried an emotional weight that was hard to bear. During this part of the narration, there was pin-drop silence. It wasn’t just the words—it was the collective hurt we all felt. Akshay sir didn’t just perform it; he lived it. You could see it in his eyes—this was conviction, not acting. I hope it resonates with the audience like it did with us," Aamil Keeyan Khan concluded.
