The trailer of Akshay Kumar’s upcoming film Mission Mangal has impressed the audiences and while the movie is still two weeks away from its release, we hear that Akki is teaming up again with Mission Mangal’s director Jagan Shakti for the Hindi remake of 2014 Tamil film Kaththi.
The film has been titled Ikka in Hindi. This was supposed to be Shakti’s first film but it got delayed as Mission Mangal came his way. However, things are now back on track and they will start working on the project soon.
The original was directed by AR Murugadoss and had featured South superstar Vijay in the lead role. Vijay had a double role in the movie, which revolved around farmers committing suicide due to corporate encroachment. The story of the remake has been tweaked a bit to suit the Hindi audience’s sensibilities.
Meanwhile, Akshay and Jagan are looking forward to the release of Mission Mangal, which also stars Vidya Balan, Taapsee Pannu, Sonakshi Sinha, Nithya Menen and Kirti Kulhari among others. The movie will hit the theaters on Independence Day.
