Akshay Kumar was present at the Kesari Chapter 2 press conference today in Mumbai. He was asked about media comments and how industry people react to his movie choices, which are usually socially and politically challenging films. Recently, Bollywood actor Jaya Bachchan mentioned that she wouldn't watch Akshay's movie TEPK, and the Kesari actor finally responded to it.
When asked about how people in the industry degrade his work, he said, "Koi bewakoof hi hoga..." "Mujhe nahin lagta kisi ne criticize kiya hai un filmon ko. Koi bewakoof hi hoga jo aise films ko criticize karega. Aap khud dekh lijiye, maine Pad Man banayi, maine Airlift ki, Toilet Ek Prem Katha, Kesari, and now Kesari Chapter 2. Maine bahut dil se banayi hai. Aur koi film agar logon ko kuchh sikhati hai, koi cheez samjhati hai, toh I don't think usse koi criticize karega."
The journalist added that recently Jaya Bachchan said she wouldn't watch a film like Toilet Ek Prem Katha, to which Akshay replied, "Agar unhone kaha hai, toh sahi hoga. Agar Toilet Ek Prem Katha jaise film banakar maine koi galat kaam kiya hai, toh wah keh rahi hain, wah sahi hoga."
