Sitaare Zameen Par Indian version of Spanish film Campeones:
Aamir Khan's next film is titled Sitaare Zameen Par, which is scheduled for release on June 20, 2025. The trailer for the film was planned to be launched digitally today, but due to a national crisis, the makers have postponed it for a while. Amidst this, one of Aamir's recent interviews is going viral on social media, in which he confirmed that SZP is a remake of the Spanish film Campeones (2018). See the video below:
In the video, Aamir Khan is heard saying, "I've been working on a film now which is almost ready. It's called Sitaare Zameen Par. I had made a film called Taare Zameen Par, and this is a sequel to that. In terms of the theme, thematically, it is going 10 steps ahead. It is also about people who have different abilities. It's about inclusion. It's about love. It's about friendship, about life. That film made you cry. This is a film that will make you laugh. Yeah. It's a comedy. And the theme is the same."

He further went on to say, "You know, it's the same theme about people with different abilities. My character in that film was Nikumbh. He was a very sensitive person. In this film, my character's name is Gulshan, but his personality is exactly the opposite of Nikumbh. He's not sensitive at all. He's very rude. He's politically incorrect. He insults everybody. He fights with his wife, fights with his mother. He beats up his senior coach. He's a basketball coach. He's a person with many problems, and the story is how he changes in the film and how the 10 people, some of whom have Down syndrome, some of whom have autism, differ on the spectrum, you know, with different abilities. They are the people who teach everyone what it is to be a good human being. Originally, it's a Spanish film. We have made the Indian version of that."
