The Dangal actor said, "We have begun working on it (the Mahabharata). We have put together a team, and the writing work has started.” When asked about the tentative timeline, he seemed a bit unsure, stating, “Let’s see how the first phase goes. I will take a call on it after that."

Earlier, Aamir had said that he is scared of making Mahabharata. "Well, that’s my dream project, and it’s a very scary endeavor. It’s so huge, and I am afraid of getting it wrong. It’s a significant responsibility because, as Indians, it’s something so close to us; it’s in our blood. I want to get it right. I want to make every Indian proud. I also want to showcase to the world what India has. I don’t know if it will happen, but it’s something I want to strive towards. So let’s see,” he told the media portal a few months ago.
