Actor R. Madhavan recently opened up about the emotional impact of filming a crucial 26/11 sequence in the upcoming film Dhurandhar, revealing that co-stars Akshaye Khanna and Arjun Rampal were deeply shaken after shooting the intense scene.

Speaking in a recent interaction, Madhavan shared that recreating moments inspired by the tragic 2008 Mumbai attacks was emotionally draining for the entire team. He explained that the atmosphere on set turned extremely heavy once filming wrapped, especially for Khanna and Rampal, who were visibly affected by the gravity of the material.

According to Madhavan, both actors immersed themselves completely in their roles. The emotional weight of reliving such a painful chapter from India’s history left them “shattered” once the cameras stopped rolling. He noted that while actors often prepare for demanding scenes, this particular sequence carried a different kind of psychological burden because of its real-life resonance.

The film attempts to portray the human cost and tension surrounding the 26/11 events with authenticity. Madhavan emphasized that the team approached the subject with great sensitivity and responsibility, knowing how deeply the tragedy still resonates with audiences.

Directed by Aditya Dhar, Dhurandhar went on to become the highest grossing Bollywood movie of all time in domestic market. The film starred Ranveer Singh, Akshaye Khanna, Arjun Rampal, R. Madhavan, Sanjay Dutt, Sara Arjun and others. The sequel, titled Dhurandhar The Revenge, aka Dhurandhar 2, is scheduled to be released on March 19, 2026.
