Asked about whether Kantara Chapter 1 could repeat the same magic in the Hindi belt, he credited the path-breaking success of SS Rajamouli’s Baahubali 2 for creating the pan-India wave. “We didn’t expect this kind of love,” Rishab said. “We made this film for Kannada audiences, but it reached wider audiences, especially in Hindi. The credit goes to Baahubali 2. That film brought this pan-India trend and expanded markets for many regional movies. I’ll give that credit to SS Rajamouli sir.”
