KISHKINDHA KAANDAM REVIEW MOVIE TALKIES:

I have read many positive reviews about Kishkindha Kaandam, with some calling it one of the best films of the year. I would like to disagree somewhat. This does not mean that it is bad; it's a good film, but the reviews are definitely overwhelming, in my opinion.

Kishkindha Kaandam

I don't know how many of you have seen the Marathi movie Ringa Ringa (2010), which was inspired by another film I know nothing about. The Marathi flick features a lady taking revenge through hallucinations and memory loss themes, but in the end, she surrenders to unreality and finds the peace that she couldn't find in reality.

Kishkindha Kaandam

Kishkindha Kaandam employs the same formula but is set against a completely different backdrop and narrative. The mysterious story does not rush while unfolding the secrets, and some points remain unclear even after the conclusion. Let's consider this: Ajay knew what happened to Chachu and kept it a secret for three years, yet we still see him heading to Nagpur. Why? Even his wife, who has recently learned all the secrets about Chachu, is with him. Why would these two be so foolish? The wife could have chosen an different life as an independent woman.

Kishkindha Kaandam

The second question is quite imbalanced because I don't know how you'll interpret it. We have Appu, who has memory loss, and he is the only one who knows the real secret. However, due to his memory issue, he cannot recall, and as a result, we don't know what really transpired. That secret remains concealed. That's somewhat unjust to us, the audience, but it's also a new theory that should be praised.

Kishkindha Kaandam

Overall, it's a well-made suspense thriller that deserves to be watched for its unique approach by the writer and director, but don't expect many answers. It's more about your own speculation than concrete replies. Remember the final frame of the Korean classic Memories of Murder? Now you understand!
