Zootopia 2
Zootopia 2 flops in India, Shocks in China:
The animated sequel Zootopia 2 has sent shockwaves across the global box office — especially in China — after setting a brand new record. On its first Saturday in theaters, the film reportedly raked in over US $100 million in a single day in China, making it the first Hollywood movie ever to cross that threshold in that market.

Avengers Endgame, which had long held the record, saw its reign end as audiences flocked to Zootopia 2 in droves.
Zootopia 2 Box Office collection:
Globally too, the sequel is off to a spectacular start. Industry trackers estimate a worldwide opening of roughly $520 million or more, driven by strong performances not just in China, but also in North America and other markets.
The success is being credited to a combination of factors: powerful nostalgia for the original film, family-friendly appeal, and strong pre-release buzz in China — where pre-sales figures were already among the highest for a non-Chinese animated feature post-COVID.

Zootopia 2’s runaway success in China marks a milestone for Hollywood cinema in that market. If the momentum continues, the sequel could become one of the highest-grossing Hollywood films ever in China — and may well challenge other global blockbusters for the top spot.
However, in India there is a different story in writing. The film has collected approx. 4 crore nett in 2 days and heading to a flop buisness in lifetime. The craze for Zootopia was never so good in India and that's why the studio brought Shraddha Kapoor on board. Sadly, the gimmick didn't work.
In our review, we wrote:
With Disney’s ongoing trend of commercial-driven sequels, Zootopia 2 was inevitable. Unfortunately, what arrives feels like a downgrade. Disney’s animal metropolis still delivers a passable adventure, but there’s very little here that excites you for the future — unless it earns enough to force Zootopia 3 into existence. This time, the animals confront a long-buried secret, while the beloved leading duo struggles to stay in sync during their latest case. There are moments of fun and wild energy, but never quite enough, especially because the emotional beats fail to land with real impact.
