Zoe Saldana about her journey in Avatar Franchise:

Zoe Saldana played the leading role in James Cameron's Avatar (2009), which went on to become a record-breaking blockbuster at the global box office. She portrayed Neytiri, the love interest of Sully (played by Sam Worthington). She reprised the role in the 2022 sequel, Avatar: The Way of Water, which grossed over $2 billion at the worldwide box office. The journey of these two films lasted 13 years, and now the third film is set to come out in 2025.  

Saldana recently spoke about her journey through the Avatar franchise, which has spanned years and will encompass a few more. She was featured in Deadline's video series where she opened up about the age factor while portraying Neytiri.

The actress shared, "I was 28 when I did the first movie, and I think if all goes to plan, I'm going to be 53 or 54 for the very fifth and final one. That's a gift. It's a gift to be able to revisit a character that has given me so much. To revisit a place that has been so magical. Not just for me but for so many people in the world. We're talking about communities in the Amazon that were able to see Avatar 1, and they were moved by the stories that Jim [Cameron] was telling and how they felt represented in the story that Jim was conveying. That's beautiful to be part of something so impactful."

The next film in the Avatar franchise is Avatar: Fire and Ash, scheduled to be released on Christmas 2025. It will be followed by Avatar 4 and Avatar 5 in 2029 and 2031, respectively.
