Indian cricketer Yuzvendra Chahal has opened up about the toughest phase of his life, revealing his battle with depression, anxiety attacks, and suicidal thoughts following his divorce from Dhanashree Verma. Speaking on Raj Shamani’s podcast, Chahal spoke candidly about his emotional struggles and how deeply the situation affected his mental health.
"I got anxiety attacks, I was in depression. I had suicidal thoughts. I watched so many things about myself on social media. I wanted a break from cricket. I started shivering due to anxiety, I was sweating despite the AC being on," Chahal shared during the podcast.

Chahal, known for his witty personality and sharp leg-spin, revealed that behind his smiling face was a person silently suffering. He admitted that the constant spotlight and speculation about his personal life on social media only made things worse.
Speaking about his marriage, he said, "A relationship is like a compromise. If one gets angry, the other has to listen. Sometimes the nature of two people does not match. I was playing for India, she was also doing her thing, we were not able to meet much. This was going on for 1–2 years."

Yuzvendra Chahal also shared his grief about online chatters about his rumoured girlfriend, RJ Mahvash. He said that she didn't break his marriage; rather, she helped him cover from rhe traumatic phase.
