No copybook answers. No diplomatic stance. No 'all is well' and 'we are one family' statements. Seedhi baat is what Bipasha Basu is indulging in, now that Raaz 3 is merely hours away from release. Curious (but not nervous), confident (but not arrogant), unpretentious (but not apologetic) - that's Bipasha for you who is pretty much in an admittance mode as her horror dramatic thriller gets set for release. Over to the lady who is doing all the talking, and enjoying it all too.
Bipasha, I remember when the first shot of the film was revealed by (Mahesh) Bhatt saab and you were shown lying on the couch in that red dress while being all uninhibited, there were quite a few questions that had come to a viewer's mind. So are we going to see an altogether new Bipasha this time around?
Yes (stays in a firm note). Raaz 3 came to me at that stage when it was most important for me to get it all right. When I say that the role of Shanaya is quite crazy, it is actually the fact and that's because no one has ever attempted anything like this before. In fact Bhatt saab also said to me that I have been a brave girl to actually accept this role.
And why is that so?
Because when you would watch the film, you would realise that there is a very strong image attached to this role, more so because it belongs to the film industry. I myself don't know that how many would have actually picked up this role if not for me.
So what made you do confident that you actually went for it?
(Smiles) After being in the business for 10 years, I am not looking at making, securing or changing any image. This isn't something that scares me and that's the reason why I have given a lot to Raaz 3. This film isspecial for me because I am hoping that it gives me a good outcome. See, earlier for many films of mine I have said that I don't have many expectations from there. However for Raaz 3 it is not the case. So let me say that 'Yes, I am expecting a lot from Raaz 3.
Other than you I am sure your co-star Esha Gupta is expecting a lot as well since it's her second film and she is playing a key protagonist. With two stunning women having their body beautiful do the talking, on your part how did you approach the film and role considering the fact that even Esha out there has a lot to prove as well?
You can't think like that because in a story like this with three key protagonists, it is important that each character performs well. Each of ushad to perform right. While Emraan is quite experienced, Esha had to meet up the challenge too since she is playing this young superstar who has just started off in the industry. She had to play someone vulnerable and she has done it well. Shanaya's character is such that it can be completed only when Sanjana (Esha Gupta) and Aditya (Emraan Hashmi) have the right prominence.
Well, with you and Emraan around, seems like there is a package deal in the offering, what with some intimate moments pretty much expected to play on screen.
(Smiles) Let's not tag it as a package. What you see is indeed therequirement of the film. You would know when you watch the film.
