publive-imageEvery Bollywood filmmaker and actor wishes to have a big holiday release for his film. Though there are 52 Fridays in a year, hardly 5 or 6 come at festivals. That's why everyone fights for those big Fridays and tries to book them as soon as possible. Republic Day, Eid, Independence Day, Gandhi Jayanti, Diwali, and Christmas are termed the biggest holidays of the year. Here's looking at the films that destroyed the potential of festivals in 2022.publive-imageEid :

Eid, which is known for Salman Khan movies, did not see any Salman movie. Tiger Shroff and Ajay Devgn decided to take on each other on Eid, only to lose the battle. The trade had high expectations from Heropanti 2 and Runway 34, but both films turned out to be Disasters at the box office. So bad that none of them could even cross the 50 crore nett mark at the box office. Runaway 34 did more than Heropanti 2, though, only to win the lost battle.publive-imageRaksha Bandhan/Independence Day :

Another huge weekend and another clash. Aamir Khan and Kareena Kapoor's Laal Singh Chaddha clashed against Akshay Kumar and Bhumi Pednekar's Raksha Bandhan during the extended holiday period. The results were poor. Laal Singh Chaddha did the business of 59 crore nett, while Raksha Bandhan stopped at the 45 crore nett mark. Another festival with two box office disasters.publive-imageDiwali :

The jinx of two disasters on a festival didn't even spare Diwali. Ajay Devgn and Sidharth Malhotra's Thank God and Akshay Kumar, Nushrratt Bharuccha, and Jacqueline Fernandez's Ram Setu faced each other on the festival of firecrackers but failed to light up the box office. Yet another festival period with two disasters. Ram Setu defeated Thank God by a good margin but couldn't help avoiding a flop verdict.publive-imageChristmas:

The last festival of the year also has the advantage of the new year's weekend after a week. Rohit Shetty and Ranveer Singh's Cirkus was supposed to make families laugh during the Christmas period but instead made theatre owners and distributors cry. Cirkus is still running in cinemas, but with empty houses. It has turned out to be the last and one of the biggest box-office disasters of the year.
