Will Ranveer Singh Have To Choose Between Bhansali's 'Baiju Bawra' And Karan Johar's 'Takht'?

As we reported earlier Sanjay Leela Bhansali is all set for his next magnum opus - musical saga, Baiju Bawra. Bhansali has once again decided to rope in his favourite actor, Ranveer Singh for his this dream project, and hence approached the actor of the same. But now we hear that Ranveer is in a big dilemma with this film, and the actor might have to give in a second thought on working in this film with his all-time favourite director. As Ranveer has already given a chunk of his dates for Karan Johar's period multi-starrer Takht. Now with film shoots getting delayed and coming to a halt amid the coronavirus pandemic, the actor already has to do a lot of rescheduling in his schedule. Thus the actor might have to choose one among both these big-budget magnum opus. Though we hear that Ranveer is trying to work out with his dates, so that he can allot time to both the films, now we have to see how much the actor succeeds with making out time for his favorite filmmaker.

Meanwhile Baiju Bawra is said to be based on the 1952 Hindi film with the same title. The original starred Bharat Bhushan as Baiju, with Meena Kumari playing his love interest Gauri. Baiju Bawra will be a story that revolves around a maverick maestro, who goes out to seek revenge. Bhansali is expected to start working on it post he wraps up Gangubai Kathiawadi with Alia Bhatt. Reports were going rounds that Ajay Devgn was offered to play the role of Tansen in the movie, which he has reportedly turned down. The film is all set lit up the screens on Diwali 2021. Initially actress Priyanka Chopra was offered to play the lead in the film before Alia Bhatt.

Whereas Takht’ is a period drama, where the story revolves around two warring brothers, inspired by the fight for the throne between the sons of Shah Jahan, Aurangzeb and Dara Shukoh. The film will be bankrolled by Dharma Productions and will also star Kareena Kapoor Khan, Alia Bhatt, Janhvi Kapoor, Vicky Kaushal, Anil Kapoor and Bhumi Pednekar in pivotal roles.
