Will Akshay Kumar Play The Role Of PV Sindhu's Coach Pullela Gopichand In Her Biopic?

A biopic on badminton player PV Sindhu's inspiring journey was on cards for a while. Now, after her historic win as the first Indian to win gold at the BWF (Badminton World Federation) World Championships, there are fresh reports of Akshay Kumar joining in for the project. Akshay is said to be portraying PV Sindhu's coach Pullela Gopichand in her biopic.

The Padma Bhushan and Rajiv Gandhi Kehl Ratna recipient, Pullela, recently told a newspaper daily, that how he loves and admires Akshay Kumar. Hence it would be fantastic if he agrees to play him on the 70mm screen. He further added that Akshay has met and encouraged Sindhu on multiple occasions.

Akshay recently took social media to congratulate Sindhu on her historic win and wrote, "Heartiest congratulations, PV Sindhu on becoming the first Indian to win a gold medal at the #BWFWorldChampionships2019. What a feat to achieve, you completely smashed it."

Akshay Kumar has always been extremely supportive and encouraging towards all Indian athletes and their achievements. Thus it will be interesting to see whether Akshay gives a nod to play Indian badminton team's chief national coach in the biopic.
