Sajid Khan on MeToo:

Many of you are aware of Sajid Khan's MeToo controversy, and that's why he hasn't been active in Bollywood since then. The producer-director was one of the accused during the MeToo movement in Bollywood back in 2018, which literally put a full stop to his career. Now, he wants to come back after experiencing terrible thoughts of ending his life.

During a recent conversation with Hindustan Times, Sajid shared that he thought of ending his life many times after the MeToo allegations but couldn't bring himself to do it. He couldn't bear the fact that he was barred from work despite receiving a clean chit from the film association.

Sajid Khan was quoted saying, "I thought of ending my life many times in the last six years. It’s been extremely bad in the sense that I’ve been out of work despite getting clearance from the Indian Film and Television Directors Association (IFTDA). I’m trying to get back on my feet."

"I've learned the hard way. I never disrespected women, and I never will. My mother raised me to believe in gender equality. I didn't realize my words would make me pay such a huge price," he added while discussing his perspective on women in the industry.

Sajid was supposed to direct Housefull 4, starring Akshay Kumar, Riteish Deshmukh, and Bobby Deol, but he was replaced by the makers to avoid negativity. Now, he wants to make a comeback but isn't getting work.
