Wajid Khan
Wajid Khan of popular music director duo Sajid-Wajid, who was reportedly suffering from COVID-19, lost battle to Coronavirus on Sunday. He was 42.
Reportedly, he had undergone kidney transplant a few months ago and had tested positive for Coronavirus recently. As his condition was quite serious, he was on ventilator support in a hospital in Mumbai, where he passed away on Sunday.
Music composer Salim Merchant confirmed the news writing, "Devastated with the news of the passing away of my brother Wajid of Sajid -Wajid fame. May Allah give strength to the family. Safe travels bro @wajidkhan7 you’ve gone too soon. It’s a huge loss to our fraternity. I’m shocked & broken. Inna Lillahi wa inna ilayhi raji'un."
Priyanka Chopra also mourned his demise writing, "Terrible news. The one thing I will always remember is Wahidbhai’s laugh. Always smiling. Gone too soon. My condolences his family and everyone grieving. Rest in peace my friend. You are in my thoughts and prayers. @wajidkhan7."
Sajid–Wajid first scored music for Salman Khan's Pyar Kiya To Darna Kya in 1998. They have composed music for several hit films like the Dabangg series, Rowdy Rathore and Mujhse Shaadi Karogi to name a few. They had also composed Salman Khan's lockdown songs Bhai Bhai and Pyaar Karona.
