Wajah Tum Ho had a low weekend at the Box Office as 8.5 crore* came in. If one compares these numbers with the opening numbers of director Vishal Pandya's last film belonging to the same (erotic thriller) genre, Hate Story 3, it pretty much tells the tale. That film had collected 9.72 crore on just its opening day while Wajah Tum Ho has managed lesser numbers over the entire weekend. That said, the economics of the Sharman Joshi, Sana Khan, Gurmeet Choudhary and Rajniesh Duggall film are such that as per T-Series, they are in profits.
Other films in the running couldn't collect much between them. Befikre scored 6.75 crore* more in its second weekend and currently stands at 55.5 crore*. It now has four more days to bring in some sort of moolah before Dangal takes over. The film is aiming for lifetime collections of around 60 crore.
Kahaani 2 is going through the motions in its third weekend. With 1.25 crore* more coming in, the film has now collected 32.5 crore*. Ideally, these should have been the numbers after the first week itself. However, for now it is on path to wrap up under the 35 crore mark.
Dear Zindagi is making the most of not much competition in the offering, as a result of which 1 crore* more came in its fourth weekend. Having managed 67 crore* already, it should now have a touch and go with the Pink lifetime total of 68 crore in its final run.
Overall though, the weekend has been quite low for Bollywood with just around 18 crore coming in over the weekend when the available capacity was to earn 100-120 crore. That comes to 15% overall occupancy in theaters, which pretty much tells the terrible situation that the industry is finding itself in currently.
*Estimates. Final numbers awaited
