Actor Vivek Oberoi, who has been mostly known for playing gangsters on screen, seems to have got tired of playing the silver screen law-breaker. It now seems that the actor wants to switch over to the other side by playing a cop.
Sources claim that the Company actor has been roped in by Bheja Fry director Sagar Ballary to play a police officer in his next flick Saali Khushi, which will be a human interest drama set against the backdrop of the underworld and dance bars. The makers are also trying to rope in Mallika Sherawat to pair opposite Vivek Oberoi, it seems. Incidentally, the storyline of Saali Khushi 'sounds' quite familiar to Mumbai Mirror, a film out of which the sultry Sherawat was allegedly booted out, as both films deal with the world of dance bars.
If this project goes through, Vivek Oberoi will be seen playing a cop for the very first time, though his character in Dum named Uday Shinde is shown to be a young graduate who passes the police exams before circumstances force him to take law in his own hands.
