Vicky Kaushal Starrer Sardar Udham Singh Gets Postponed

publive-imageVicky Kaushal starrer Sardar Udham Singh biopic, which was scheduled to release on the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti, October 2, 2020, has now been pushed to a 2021 release. The biopic has now been postponed, and it will release on 15th January 2021. In an official statement released by the production house, Rising Sun Films read, “On March 13th 1940, #SardarUdham singlehandedly assassinated Michael O' Dwyer in London to honour the lives lost at the Jallianwala Bagh massacre. His story deserves justice onscreen too. Starring Vicky Kaushal, we will now see you in cinemas on 15th January 2021!”

Vicky Kaushal too on his Instagram shared the same same post, making the announcement.

Talking about the biographical drama, Shoojit Sircar, the director of the film, in an earlier interaction revealed, that it was his dream to make a film on the revolutionary Udham Singh. To avenge the Jalianwala Bagh Massacre of 1919. Sardar Udham Singh shot Brigadier General Reginald Dyer and Mixhael O'Dwyer, the lieutenant governor of Punjab, who were responsible for the mass slaughter. The director added that he wants to bring this largely unknown revolutionary alive on screen for which he is both emotional and nervous. Vicky in the film will be seen playing the titular role.

Meanwhile Vicky Kaushal will also be seen in Karan Johar’s multi-starrer Takht, which also stars Ranveer Singh, Alia Bhatt, Anil Kapoor, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Janhvi Kapoor and Bhumi Pednekar in pivotal roles.
