Amar Kaushik's second film in the horror-universe, Bhediya, starring Varun Dhawan and Kriti Sanon, has had an underwhelming first day 1 at the box office. Bhediya had a low opening in the morning shows of approximately 15–20% occupancy, but then saw a slightly improved trend by the evening and night shows. Bhediya collected approximately 6.75 crore nett on Friday on over 2000 screens across the nation. The film has done slightly better than what Amar Kaushik's debut film Stree had done 4 years ago. Stree did 6.65 crore nett business on its first day on just 1900 screens, with higher footfalls.Drishyam 2's second-friday figures are higher than Bhediya's first-day collections. Bhediya seems to be in trouble as far as the opening is concerned. The film needs to have long legs from here on out to survive, and that too against Drishyam 2.
