Varun Dhawan Donates Rs. 55 Lakhs To The Relief Fund For Coronavirus Pandemic

The novel coronavirus outbreak is the biggest challenge that the world is facing right now globally. The pandemic has hit the world hard, and in India, the novel coronavirus has infected around 1153 people and has lead to the death of 28 people nationwide as of early estimate on March 30, 2020. Celebrities from around the world and across sectors are now coming together and joining hands to help the government battle the pandemic and contain the outbreak. The deadly virus that has affected thousand continue to spread at a rapid speed. Amidst which everyone is trying to do their bit, to prevent the spread of the pandemic amongst the population in different ways. Now actor Varun Dhawan has stepped forward and extended his support in doing his bit, by making a contribution in order to curb the spread of coronavirus and assist the administration with their public policies.

Varun has donated Rs. 55 Lakhs for Covid-19 relief fund, out of which an amount of Rs. 30 lakhs is given to the PM Cares fund for the country, and Rs. 25 Lakhs to Maharashtra CM's relief fund. It’s commendable how actors are now stepping forward in helping the government with their support at a time when the nation is facing the wrath of a pandemic.

Varun announced that he pledge to contribute a sum of Rs 30 lakh to the PM-CARES fund with a Tweet. He wrote,

"I pledge to contribute 30 lakhs to the PM CARE fund. We will overcome this. Desh hai toh hum hain. (sic)"

Prime Minister Narendra Modi retweeted the tweet and wrote, "Well said and well done."

Varun Dhawan announced to contribute a sum of Rs 25 lakh to the Maharashtra CM’s Relief Fund with a Tweet,

"I pledge to contribute 25 lakhs to the Maharashtra CM’s relief fund @OfficeofUT @AUThackeray @CMOMaharashtra. We are with you sir,".

Chief Minister of Maharashtra on his official Twitter handle replied to Varun's tweet and wrote,

"Thank you Varun

Aaditya Thackeray too retweeted the tweet and wrote, "Thank you so much for this (sic)."
