After running into trouble with the Censor Board in India, Abhishek Chaubey's Udta Punjab ran into trouble with the Pakistan Censor Board and the makers have decided to not release the film in Pakistan, it seems.
Sources claim that the Pakistan Censor Board demanded 100 cuts in the film, which the makers were not ready for, which led to the decision of the makers. Confirming the news, director Abhishek Chaubey said that though this move might lead to loss of revenue for the makers, they see no point in releasing the film with a 100 cuts as it would take away the essence of the film.
Udta Punjab, which stars Shahid Kapoor, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Alia Bhatt and Diljit Dosanjh, revolves around rampant drug abuse in Punjab.
