The trailer of Ajay Devgn, Saif Ali Khan and Kajol starrer Tanhaji: The Unsung warrior was unveiled today amidst much fanfare and the stunning visuals and powerful dialogues made us go wow.
The film revolves around Tanhaji Malusare, the military commander of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, who fought against the Mughals in the Battle of Sinhagadh. The film shows the valour of the Marathas, much like Ashutosh Gowariker’s Panipat but this one is more realistic.
Ajay has played Tanhaji and he is convincing as a koli warrior, who is extremely loyal to his King. Ajay brings his star power to the trailer and makes a solid impact with his daredevilry and dialogue delivery.
Saif Ali Khan is playing the antagonist Udaybhan Rathodh, the fortkeeper under Jai Singh, who was a Mughal Army Chief. Saif has killed it as the cold-blooded villain. How the Marathas under Tanhaji’s leadership annex Kondana fort forms the rest of the plot.
Sharad Kelkar is playing Shivaji and he is looking superb as the great Maratha king. Kajol is playing Tanhaji’s elegant and brave wife Savitribai. Luke Kenny is convincing as Mughal Emperor Aurangzeb.
The film has been mounted on a huge scale and has certain realism to it. The background score is thrilling however, it’s too loud. This is a story that hasn’t been explored by Bollywood yet and hence it has that novelty factor.
The trailer is outstanding and now, we are eagerly waiting for the movie to release on January 10. Directed by Om Raut, the film will clash with Deepika Padukone’s Chhapaak.
