2021 hasn't been a great year for Bollywood as the pandemic threat kept coming back with several intervals. Like 2020, there were not many releases– the way we used to have before the pandemic, but somehow we managed to see few of them. In the first quarter, some small budget films tried to get audiences back to cinemas, but failed. The actual bang happened with Sooryavanshi on Diwali and that's the bang maybe. Ahan Shetty debuted with the bang and received a lot of praise for his role in this Hindi remake of RX 100. Starring Tara Sutaria as a lead heroine, the film has done business of around 25 crore nett in India. Crossing Roohi's 24 crore nett by a small margin, Tadap has got the 5th spot in the list of highest grossing Bollywood movies of 2021. 4) Bell Bottom 

Akshay Kumar starrer Bell Bottom was pushed twice before, but then makers were forced to release it on 19th August, despite the lockdown in Maharashtra and some other states. The film lost a major chunk of its business because the biggest market in India was shut. The film still did the business of around 32 crore nett in India. 3) Antim: The Final Truth

Salman Khan and Aayush Sharma's action drama Antim: The Final Truth released just a day after John Abraham's Satyameva Jayate 2. The film received mixed response from the critics and audience and went on to collect approximately 39 crore nett at domestic box office. 2) '83

Kabir Khan's ambitious sports drama '83 has been awaited since 2019 and finally made it to theaters this Christmas, only to score disappointing numbers. The film is still running in cinemas and will add a few more crores in its Kitty but that's not enough. So far, the film has collected 60 crore nett in 5 days including all languages and will end up somewhere around 80-85 crore nett. Anyhow, it will remain the second highest grossing Bollywood movie of 20211) Sooryavanshi 

The one and only HIT film in 2021. Rohit Shetty kept his promise of bringing audiences back to cinemas. Sooryavanshi became the first and only Bollywood movie to cross the 100 crore nett and 150 crore nett mark in the Post-pandemic era. Unfortunately, it missed the 200 crore nett mark by a very small margin, however, it did the job alright. The final numbers of Sooryavanshi closed in at 196 crore nett in India.
