Promo of Baaghi has been making waves for almost three weeks now and while the film's action, music and fresh 'jodi' of Tiger Shroff and Shraddha Kapoor has been noticed in a big way, it has also set to rest one big doubt. Yes, it is not the same as Salman Khan's Baaghi, the namesake film which was a big hit when released way back in 1990.

"It was never the same, but people have a tendency to jump to conclusions," says a source attached to the film, "That film was about a college student (Salman Khan) who rescues a girl (Nagma) from prostitution. This one is about two youngsters (Tiger and Shraddha) who are both rebels and take on the baddie (Sudheer Babu)."

Considering the fact that producer Sajid Nadiadwala and Salman Khan are good friends, there were speculations that latter's Baaghi would be revisited in the New Age version.

"Except for the title, there is no similarity whatsoever," the source adds, "Of course there is a rescue involved as the baddie abducts the girl, hence resulting in the young hero going on rampage. This results in some high voltage hand-to-hand action combat with dozens of goons that is one of the major highlights of the film. However, the core of the film is different, and so is the overall treatment."

Incidentally, this is not the first time when the title Baaghi has been repeated. In year 2000, there was also a Sanjay Dutt starrer Baaghi which had hit the screens. The film also starred Manisha Koirala and Aditya Pancholi and had an altogether different storyline as it was based in underworld.

"Well, wait and watch for what Sabbir and Sajid have brought with their own Baaghi," the source adds, "It is an out and out entertainer and you would have everything in there, ranging from music, action, romance and thrills."

We look forward to that once the film hits the screens on 29th April.
