Remember this smash hit gaana from the 90s? It had the late Divya Bharti cavorting with the then newcomer Shah Rukh Khan to hit music and had the audiences crazy. The film not only was a musical blockbuster but did great business at the box office too.
Besides Divya Bharti and Shah Rukh Khan, the film also had Rishi Kapoor playing one of the leads.

This was THE film which heralded the arrival of Shah Rukh Khan. After this film, it was no looking back for King Khan as he went on to essay diverse characters which showcased his skills and SRK went on to become the man with the midas touch at the box office.
Divya Bharti - the lovely, bubbly and effervescent actress who was already a rising star then further cemented her position in the industry. She made her place in peoples' hearts with this film. Sadly death snatched away this beautiful and talented actress from our midst in the prime of her career leaving behind a void which could never be replaced.
Rishi Kapoor delivered an accomplished performance as the first love and husband of Divya in the film.
The late Amrish Puri essayed the villain's role with the required menace. Sushma Seth who portrayed the royal and aristocratic Rishi's mother played her part to perfection. The rest of the supporting cast of Alok Nath, Mohnish Behl and Dalip Tahil lended able support.
The film was produced by Guddu Dhanoa and Lalit Kapoor, Raj Kanwar directed the film.
The film had an enchanting and melodious music score by Nadeem Shravan. Deewana gave us some haunting melodies like Aisi Deewangi, Teri Umeed, Payaliya, Sochenge Tumhe Pyaar Karke Nahi amongst others and the songs are remembered and hummed even today.
The film was the quintessential masala entertainer and regaled the audiences. Paisa Vasool for sure!
