Himesh Reshammiya's upcoming film The Xpose is all set to unveil the dirty secrets of Bollywood from the 60s to the 70s. The makers of the film have taken inspiration from many real life incidents for the movie and one such scene is related to late actress Meena Kumari's 1972 release Pakeezah.
Pakeezah failed to work at the box-office initially however, it became a superhit when its leading lady passed away two weeks after its release. The director of The Xpose claims that director of Pakeezah, Kamal Amrohi got actress Padma Khanna to dub Kumari's voice and released it as the latter's 'last recorded message' to receive the audiences' sympathy and as expected it escalated the film's box-office collections. The makers of The Xpose too have a similar scene in their much-anticipated film.
The Xpose also stars Irrfan Khan, Zoya Afroz, Sonali Raut and Honey Singh and is slated to release on May 16.
