The Writers Guild Strike

The Writers Guild of America and top studios have had a talk and seem to have a crack at a deal to end the strike that has been causing losses to industry over the last few months.

On Sunday, Guild confirmed that they have reached a tentative deal, and a few things are yet to be discussed before making the final decision.

WGA shared, "WGA has reached a tentative agreement with the AMPTP. This was made possible by the enduring solidarity of WGA members and the extraordinary support of our union siblings, who joined us on the picket lines for over 146 days."

"We can say, with great pride, that this deal is exceptional—with meaningful gains and protections for writers in every sector of the membership," expressed the union committee after the negotiation.

Reacting to the same, Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass said, "Now, we must focus on getting the entertainment industry and all the small businesses that depend on it back on their feet and stronger than ever before."

WGA's picketing is suspended now. However, Hollywood actors will continue their strike until their union, SAG-AFTRA, reaches a deal with the studios.
