The Roshans Trailer: Netflix to Start 2025 with a FLOP?

The Roshans Trailer Out:

After a disappointing 2024, Netflix India is set to kick off the new year with its first project, The Roshans. It’s a documentary about a Bollywood family, and needless to say, no one is interested in watching a documentary in today’s time.

If the trailer is anything to go by, then Netflix is likely to start 2025 with a huge flop. Last year was not good for Netflix India in terms of series. Bhansali's big-budget series Heeramandi flopped, followed by multiple failures for Netflix. Then IC 814: The Kandahar Hijack brought Netflix down with its controversial scenes, leading to numerous protests and cases. The viewership was very low for the series, or most likely for almost every Netflix series in 2024. Now, it seems that 2025 will start with another flop.

Previously, Netflix collaborated with Yash Raj Films for a documentary on a Bollywood director. That flopped badly, but since the production budget wasn't high and YRF had a safe construction, it didn’t result in any losses for the production house.

This time, the celebrity family will be safe, but the platform is sure to lose viewership and organic viewers. It’s very troubling for such a major platform to consistently fail with poor marketing and PR teams at work. Hopefully, things will improve in the future.
