'The Good Road' Fails To Make The Cut At The Oscars 2014

Gyan Correa's National Award-winning Gujarati film The Good Road, which was nominated to represent India in the Best Foreign Film category at the Academy Awards 2014, is now out of the Oscar race.

The Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences has announced a list of nine films that will advance to the next round of voting in the Foreign Language Film category and The Good Road failed to make the cut.

The nine films which have been nominated in the Foreign Language category are The Broken Circle Breakdown (Belgium), An Episode In The Life Of An Iron Picker (Bosnia and Herzegovina), The Missing Picture (Cambodia), The Hunt (Denmark), Two Lives (Germany), The Grandmaster (Hong Kong), The Notebook (Hungary), The Great Beauty (Italy) and Omar (Palestine). Out of the nine, five will be shortlisted for the finale.

According to the statement on the official Oscar website, the nominations for the 86th Academy Awards will be announced on January 16, 2014.
