The Conjuring Last Rites Screening Turns Violent:

A routine movie outing turned into a violent incident at a multiplex in Chinchwad, Pune, during a screening of The Conjuring: Last Rites on Friday, September 5.

According to reports, the trouble began when a man seated behind a 29-year-old techie started narrating the film's plot loudly to his wife, spoiling the suspense for nearby viewers. The techie politely asked him to stop, but tensions escalated during the interval. What started as a simple request quickly turned into a physical altercation.

Police reports detail that the accused man grabbed the techie by his collar and proceeded to punch and kick him—striking his face, abdomen, and hands. When the techie’s wife intervened to protect him, she too was assaulted and verbally abused by the couple. The techie’s sister, who accompanied them, was also impacted by the confrontation.

The techie and his wife sustained injuries and were taken to a nearby hospital for treatment.

An FIR was registered at the Chinchwad police station on Sunday under Sections 117 (voluntarily causing grievous hurt), 115 (causing hurt), and 352 (intentional insult to provoke breach of peace) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). The accused couple, residents of Vallabhnagar in Pimpri, have been arrested or are being actively sought by authorities.

Police officials said investigations are underway and further action will be taken based on medical reports and statements from all parties involved.
