The Bads Of Bollywood
The Bads of Bollywood Episode 1 Review:
Aryan Khan’s debut directorial venture The Bads of Bollywood arrives with much anticipation, and its first episode delivers exactly what it promised – a satirical yet entertaining dive into the industry’s highs and lows. With a mix of exaggerated drama, quirky humor, and sharp observations, the series manages to strike a balance between parody and commentary.
The episode kicks off with an over-the-top action sequence set on a film set, bursting with slick VFX-heavy stunts and scale. It’s deliberately excessive, almost poking fun at Bollywood’s obsession with grandeur, yet it’s executed with polish. Lakshya shoulders the action blocks confidently, bringing an impressive physicality, while Raghav supports him with a convincing turn as the loyal friend with his Gully Boy attitude.
The real fun, however, begins with the character dynamics inspired by the hidden world of Bollywood. A charged dialogue face-off between Karan Johar and Ranveer Singh is peppered with hilarious punches, clearly inspired by their real-life personas. Aryan seems to enjoy blurring the line between reel and real, giving the audience moments of witty recognition. Bobby’s entry is another highlight – stylish, massy, and perfectly timed to inject energy into the narrative. The background score was apt.
Beyond the comedy, the series attempts to peel back Bollywood’s glamorous façade, hinting at its darker undertones. Power struggles, egos, and hypocrisies are cleverly woven into the caricatures, making the satire more biting without losing its entertainment value. Aryan’s direction shows confidence; he doesn’t shy away from exaggeration but keeps it engaging, ensuring the narrative doesn’t drag. Manish Chaudhary's aggressive and full of egoistic producer is another thing to relate to and of course, we won't name anybody here.
Overall, the first episode sets the stage for what promises to be a bold, witty, and unapologetically filmy ride. The Bads of Bollywood isn’t just about laughs – it’s about holding a mirror to the industry, albeit through a lens of humor and hyperbole.
