Taapsee Pannu's upcoming film Thappad, has been gaining a lot of eyes-balls owing to its sensitive and relevant content of normalising a physically abuse like 'slap' in our day to day lives. Recently the makers released a video, in which Taapsee Pannu can be seen along with her Thappad co-star Pavail Gulati in their characters from the film, where she is can be seen watching her husband rant about his work while holding a glass of alcohol, which she takes it from him, fearing of a disclaimer. Her husband then lights a cigarette, which she again tries to take away from him, fearing of disclaimer not being mentioned. But when he got frustrated and raised his hand to hit her, Taapsee in her character, asks why there isn’t a disclaimer to accompany this scene? On this very point, Taapsee is seen questioning why don’t we have a disclaimer for ‘Thappad’ on-screen when we have one for alcohol consumption, smoking and animal cruelty?
Change. org India and the makers of Thappad have come together to urge the censor board to make it mandatory for films that shows any kind of domestic violence in their films to carry a disclaimer. Taapsee thus urged all the viewers to sign 'Change.org' petition to add disclaimers in films featuring domestic violence.
Sharing the video she Tweeted, "Kya Thappad pe disclaimer aana bas itni si baat hai? Agar nahi toh petition sign kijiye #Thappad
