Taapsee on her social media released the first look poster from the film, revealing that the trailer of the film will be out tomorrow. Taapsee wrote.
"Kya yeh bas itni si baat hai?
Kya pyaar mein ye bhi jayaz hai?
Yeh #Thappad Ki pehli Jhalak hai!#Thappadfirstlook"

Taapsee in the first impactful poster of the film can be seen surviving the pain and reeling under the aftermath of a slap. As the intense expression of hurt and shock is clearly evident in her face. Like the film's title suggests, this film will show the violence against women that is caused to them, often in the name of showing love and protection by their partners. This film also deals with how our society, has now managed to reached a situation, where we no more consider a 'slap' as a physical abuse and have normalized it in the name of love.
Taapsee recently talking about Thappad said, that she thinks it is this year's Pink. She said, "Working with Anubhav (Sinha) sir is always an enriching experience and he encourages one to push the envelope. When he discussed Thappad, I immediately decided this was a film I had to do. It has a thought-provoking storyline and deals with a subject that must be addressed in our society. To put it in perspective, looking at what we aim to convey with our film, I can say Thappad is this year's Pink." She further added, "It wasn’t a script when I heard it first, but I was instantly interested. Anubhav sir feels as strongly about the subject as I do. It’s a woman’s perspective on relationships, what they want, with a common thread linking them."
Apart from Taapsee, this movie also features Ratna Pathak Shah, Manav Kaul, Dia Mirza, Tanve Azmi, Ram Kapoor and others. This film is co-produced by T-series and Anubhav Sinha's home production Benaras Media Works. Which will hit the screens on February 28, 2020.
Meanwhile Taapsee has her kitty filled with an interesting line-up of films like Haseen Dilruba, Rashmi Rocket and Shabaash Mithu.
