Government of India announced a 21 days nationwide lockdown on 24th March 2020, to contain the spread of novel coronavirus, that has infected around 693 people in our country and has lead to the death of 13 people in India. Now when the country has come to a complete standstill, it will result into a negative impact to our economy with industries across sectors coming to a still. The pandemic has affected the livelihood of people working in several sectors, but the ones who have been worst hit by this, are the daily wage workers. The labourers who earn their livelihood on the basis of their daily labour are now living amid uncertainty. In such dark times Bollywood celebrities like Taapsee Pannu, Ayushmann Khurrana, Sidharth Malhotra, Kiara Advani, Sanjay Dutt, Karan Johar and others took pledge and join hands to help the 'Daily Wage Workers'. These celebrities took to social media to announce their support and contribution to the initiative, 'I Stand With Humanity', started by organisations, the International Association for Human Values, the Art of Living Foundation and the Indian Film and TV Industry. They will provide families of daily wage workers with 10 days of essential food supplies. The Bollywood celebrities also urged their colleagues from the fraternity to contribute for this noble cause.

Ayushmann Khurrana tweeted,

"This is a truly noble initiative. I vow to support this and contribute. India and Indians are under threat and each one of us have the power to make a difference. Let's support and care for each other as much as we can in this time of crisis. #Istandwithhumanity,"

Taapsee Pannu wrote,

"This one for the daily wage workers. Because we need to do our bit for the ones who work with/for us.

If not corona , lack of basic food might take them down. Letโ€™s help them to get through this."
