Taapsee Pannu, Anurag Kashyap, Zoya Akhtar, Swara Bhaskar And Several Other Bollywood Celebrities Gather On Streets Of Mumbai To Protest Against JNU Attack

Several Bollywood celebrities like Taapsee Pannu, Anurag Kashyap, Zoya Akhtar, Swara Bhaskar, Anubhav Sinha, Dia Mirza, Vishal Bhardwaj, Rahul Bose, Richa Chadha, Ali Fazal, Saurabh Shukla, Sudhir Mishra, Gauahar Khan, Rekha Bhardwaj, Hansal Mehta, comedian Kunal Kamra and several others gathered at Carter Road promenade, from 8 pm to 10 pm, on 6th of January 2020, for a silent peaceful protest against the recently held attack on students in the capital. Thousand Mumbaikars have been gathering at several locations in Mumbai, namely at the Carter road and Gateway Of India area of the city, to condemn the horrific incident since Sunday night. Citizens across the country are gathering in large numbers to voice themselves against the hideous incident in the capital. Bollywood celebrities too, this time came out open in public to raise their voices against the same.

Several Bollywood celebrities apart from joining the protests have also raised their voices on social media to express their griefs.  Sonam Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, Varun Dhawan, Taapsee Pannu, Richa Chadha, Shabana Azmi, Swara Bhasker, Pooja Bhatt, Anurag Kashyap, Rajkummar Rao and several others took to Twitter to condemn JNU attack.

As per reports yesterday around 7 pm, 50 to 60 masked goons entered the campus of Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) in Delhi and thrashed students and professors on Sunday night, who were peacefully protesting against a fee hike.

Reportedly the attackers, armed with sticks and sledgehammer has also damaged university property. Approximately around 30 students and several faculty members have sustained injuries during the attack and have been hospitalized. JNU Students' Union President Aishe Ghosh, who has suffered severe head injuries, was admitted to the AIIMS Trauma Centre. Suchitra Sen, who is a faculty of JNU's Centre for the Study of Regional Development, was also admitted to AIIMS with head  injuries.
