After Sushant Singh Rajput's father filed an FIR against Rhea Chakraborty for unlawful confinement and abetment to suicide in Patna, Rhea moved the Supreme Court seeking transfer of the case to Mumbai.
Her petition argues that the Mumbai police has already registered an Accidental Death Report and has recorded statements of over 40 individuals, including her. It cites jurisdiction as a reason for seeking transfer of the FIR to Mumbai, stating that the entire course of action with respect to the case has happened in Mumbai.
Sushant's family's lawyer Vikas Singh has alleged that somebody in the Mumbai police is helping Rhea Chakraborty, after she made her latest move. He said that if she has moved the SC, she should have filed a petition seeking CBI investigation instead she asked for the stay and transfer of investigation to Mumbai.
Reportedly, his lawyer has claimed that
Sushant’s family had already filed a complaint against Rhea Chakraborty in February, four months prior to the later actor’s tragic demise. In their complaint, the family had alleged that Sushant is in bad company and they feared that something untoward might happen to him. His family had urged the Mumbai police to keep a check on Sushant.
Their family lawyer also claimed that Sushant’s family tried to file an FIR against Rhea in Mumbai too but the cops forced them to take names of big production houses and not Rhea's.
This case is getting murkier by the day.
