TV actor-turned-star Sushant Singh Rajput, who is riding high on the success of his latest release Shuddh Desi Romance, has become a hot favourite among our filmmakers. Sushant recently replaced Hrithik Roshan in Shekhar Kapur's much delayed film Paani and he has now bagged the lead role in Ashutosh Gowariker's next, which too was supposed to feature Roshan as the male lead.
Ashutosh's film, which is titled Mohenjodaro, will be based on world's oldest civilization-The Indus Valley. Hrithik, who has previously worked with Gowariker in his film Jodha Akbar, was the filmmaker's original choice. However, due to the actor's busy schedule, the project kept getting delayed and finally, Ashutosh roped in Rajput to essay the lead role.
Sources reveal that Ashutosh has researched extensively, along with a team of archaeologists for Mohenjodaro.
