Sunny Leone’s Biopic 'Karenjit Kaur' Is Not About The Porn Industry, Says Director Aditya Datt

Sunny Leone is gearing up for the release of her biopic Karenjit Kaur, a web series which will go on air on Zee5, this April and while people know her as a global sensation, the web series will tell how Karenjit Kaur became Sunny Leone.

Talking about the web series, director Aditya Datt said, “The beauty of this web series is this that it is the story of a girl, who decided to venture into an industry, which is somewhere not accepted by the society, acing that and making a mark in a society, which is completely against it and also getting acceptance in a way. It’s is not about the porn industry. Yes, the DNA of the story is related to the porn industry and her journey into the film industry but the story is about the girl, who decided to enter the industry and that’s Karenjit Kaur. So it is the untold story about Karenjit Kaur, who became Sunny Leone.”

“This story chronicles her journey right from 1981 (her birth year)to the present date, it talks about the part of her life people are not aware of. What her family went through, how they felt and how the family stood together in spite of her decision, which was a taboo in their society. Obviously, they had human reactions, but how they dealt with it and came out stronger and didn’t let her decision break the family.”

Sunny is playing herself in the much-anticipated series.
