Border 2 Filming Begins!

The shoot for Border 2 is now underway. Sunny Paji is all set to roar once more as an Indian Army soldier in the much-anticipated sequel to Border (1997). The original film was a major blockbuster at the time, and the sequel is finally arriving after 29 years.

The film is directed by Anurag Singh and stars Sunny Deol in the lead role, along with Varun Dhawan, Diljit Dosanjh, and Ahan Shetty, who are joining him as new cast members. As filming commenced today, the team dropped a picture from the sets with a clapboard in hand.

Popular Hollywood action flick The Bourne Identity's action choreographer, Nick Powell, will be designing the war action sequences for the Sunny Deol starrer. Powell has also worked on another popular Hollywood film, The Mummy (1999), and later was brought on by Rajamouli for the Indian epic action drama RRR (2022).

Set against a backdrop of patriotism and courage, Border 2 promises to deliver unparalleled action, gripping drama, and emotional depth. Border 2 is produced by Bhushan Kumar, Krishan Kumar, JP Dutta, and Nidhi Dutta and is scheduled to be released on Republic Day weekend in 2026.

At the announcement of the film, Sunny Deol wrote, "Ek fauji apne 27 saal purane waade ko pura karne aa raha hai phir se. India’s biggest war film, #Border2." The iconic "Sandese Aate Hain" song will be recomposed for the sequel.
