“I have several films in the pipeline. One of them is Lahore 1947, though the title may change, or it might ultimately stay the same. The film is an adaptation of a celebrated stage play and is slated for a theatrical release in August,” Sunny Deol said.
The film is being directed by Rajkumar Santoshi and is backed by Aamir Khan under his production banner. The project has already generated strong buzz as it marks a collaboration between Sunny Deol and Aamir Khan for the first time.

The cast of the film includes Preity Zinta, who will be seen sharing screen space with Sunny Deol. The film draws inspiration from the popular play Jis Lahore Nai Dekhya O Jamyai Nai, which is set against the backdrop of the Partition of India.
Given the sensitive and historical theme, the title Lahore 1947 carries strong emotional weight. However, the makers are carefully evaluating whether it aligns with their final vision for the film.
With a theatrical release planned for August, fans are eagerly waiting for more updates. Whether the title changes or not, the film remains one of the most anticipated projects in Sunny Deol’s upcoming lineup. The film will hit cinemas on August 13, 2026, and might face a box office clash.
